Fishing Report March 30

So far this spring it has been very cold. Every time it starts to warm up and the fish finally start to bite, it colds again and the fish go back to lock jaw mode. Add to that the high water and fishing hasn't been very good

Coffeen Lake: The one bright spot this year so far, the bass are starting to hit in the coves again. Got to love a power plant lake

Governor Bond Lake: Dead is the best way to describe this lake so far this year.

Carlyle Lake: High, muddy, and cold. There has been nothing to talk about so far out of this lake.

Kaskaskia River: Really high and cold. People are snagging shad, but for me its been skunk city.

Some of the locations that will most likely be covered include for rail include such "hot spots" as Barstow, Galesburg, Rochelle, Rock Island, Morrison, Saint Elmo, Centralia, Morrison, Peoria and Mount Vernon in Illinois, Davenport, Cedar Rapids, Clinton, Iowa City, and Nahant in Iowa, and the Saint Louis area (both Missouri and Illinois)

For fishing I will mainly spend my time fishing the areas of northwest Illinois and southcentral Illinois.

Overview

I plan on updating this blog on my fishing and train watching activities.
